Higher Thinking Skills Through IT-Based Projects

I-Resource-based Projects
These kind of project imposed by the teacher aims to step out to the traditional way wherein the teacher just keep on giving information to the learners. Instead, the teacher lets the learner be personally engage with the project itself and when there is the problem that occurs, that's the time the teacher will step in the learning process. The general flow of events in the resource-based projects are:
          1. The teacher determines the topic for the examination of the class.
-Here, the teacher will  choose a topic for the project.
          2. The teacher presents the problem to the class.
-She announces the instruction for doing the project.
          3. The students find information on the problem/question.
-The learner analyses the project the procedure and methodologies of the project to be used.
          4. Students organize their information in response to the problem/question.
-The learner finalize the whole resource-based project.
II- Simple Creation
In order to achieve the higher level of theinking skills of every learner, there must be also an specific created software to facilitate the critical thinking of the students.
          With this aspect, creativity of every learner is being developed. Creating indeed is avery crucial stage for the leaner and it involves planning, making, assembling, designing or building. It is said to combine three kind of skills;

  • Analyzing-obsreving the different features of the project including its similarities and differences.
  • Synthesizing-it involves connecting the ideas in order to come up to a better project.
  • Promoting-sharing the ideas that has been learned for others to understand the entire project
To develop creativity, the following five key task may be recommend.
  1. Define the task.Know the specific objective of the project
  2. Brainstorming. The students  exchange ideas to their classmates in order to broaden their knowledge.
  3. Judge the ideas. They make judgment to the different ideas  that is presented.
  4. Act. The students will perform the task.
  5. Adopt flexibility. The students allow some changes regarding the project.
III- Guided Hypermedia Projects
The production of a self made project can be approach in two different ways.
  1. As an instructive tools, such as in the production by students of a power point presentation of a selected topic.
  2. As a  communication tools, the students uses  media to present their ideas.
IV- Web-Based Project
The students may create their own web pages for a certain topic, but for some  reasons it may be time consuming and too expensive for the different types of learner
It should be  said, however , that posting on the web pages allows the students a wider audience. They can also be linked with other related sites in he internet. But as of now, this creativity project may be to be ambitious as a tool in the teaching-learning process.
